About Us

The Vermont Psychological Association is a non-profit professional association founded in 1950, representing psychologists in the state of Vermont.  VPA is recognized at the national level for its activism and breadth of activity and is a state affiliate of the American Psychological Association.  Besides sponsoring Continuing Education workshops, and publishing The Vermont Psychologist, the VPA is constantly acting to expand services to consumers and a quality work environment for psychologists.

Our growing number, of dedicated volunteers work on committees and boards, which make up the VPA.  Membership of the VPA consists of academicians, practicing psychologists, students and associates.  Professional activities of the membership encompass direct services in domains such as psychotherapy, educational psychology, community mental health programs, teaching and research. The VPA is a diversified group of psychologists with the common commitment to serve others and in so doing enhance the well-being of all persons.

To help the public access a VPA psychologist the VPA sponsors:
* The Vermont Referral Service (802-229-5447)
* The National Referral Service (800-964-2000)

Membership in one's professional organization is a customary aspect of professional life. Active membership in a professional organization makes the organization more powerful and empowers the individual to participate fully in professional life.

Please call Rosanna Lak, our Executive Director, at:  802-229-5447 for more information about the VPA and to join our membership of dedicated psychologists.
